Somatic Therapy

Trauma-Informed, Body-Based Therapy in Whitby, Ontario.

At Sanctuary Wellness Clinic, I offer somatic therapy to support individuals who want to reconnect with themselves in a deeper, more embodied way. This approach may be helpful if you’re navigating anxiety, stress, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or patterns that feel stuck in your body—even when you’ve already done the “work.”

Sessions are available in-person near Whitby, Ontario, or virtually across the province.

Somatic therapy

Somatic therapy is a trauma-informed approach that includes the body in the healing process. It helps you notice what your nervous system is holding—whether that’s tension, disconnection, overwhelm, or emotional shut-down—and supports your system in processing these experiences safely.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, this work focuses on what’s happening in the moment, through sensation, movement, and gentle nervous system regulation tools.

What Is Somatic Therapy?

Sessions are 60–120 minutes and move at a pace that honours your nervous system.

We might explore:
  • Grounding and orienting to increase safety
  • Tracking sensations, breath, and subtle shifts
  • Releasing stored trauma through small, manageable doses
  • Building distress tolerance and nervous system flexibility
  • Practicing boundaries, assertiveness, and choice—in the body
  • Every session is shaped by your needs, your pace, and what’s ready to shift.

If you’re looking for somatic therapy near Whitby, I offer in-person sessions designed to support nervous system regulation, self-awareness, and emotional safety.

For those across the province, online somatic therapy in Ontario is also available—bringing the same depth, presence, and body-based support into a virtual space.

You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin.
If you’re feeling pulled toward something deeper—something slower, more grounded, and body-connected—this might be the next step.
